The Bang Bang Theories

Dreaming

We were up Sunday morning early for us today, in the eight-a.m.-ish hour.

The girls were in their basket cuddled up together, which always makes my grinch-heart grow 3x in size.

I had afternoon plans to meet with my friendie, who I haven’t seen literally since last SUMMER sometime, and I don’t even know why. Are we really that busy? Why don’t we prioritize meeting up? Or is someone mad at the other? I’m not mad.  I’m also not that busy, so something is driving the separation, whether we know it or not. Maybe it really is a simple math situation – we only get fifty-two weekends a year, and they fill up quickly – or the weather intervenes, like today.

The falling snow is beautiful outside, but certainly isn’t motivating to leave the house.

So instead, I brewed a pot of Folgers to sip on throughout the morning, made a pan of chicken and cheese enchiladas which we ate for breakfast, and made the base broth for chicken paprikash soup for later today. All before 11 a.m., so who’s winning this day? (hint: me. and the girls).

I spent part of the morning daydream-browsing homes to buy in Arizona.

I want a contemporary pueblo style with a giant swimming pool and frankly I don’t have the bankroll for that. I have had the idea to create an app – one that I can sell for $5 to a million people and then I can afford my dream. I have the app idea. I *think* I have sources to develop it.  I got inspired watching Apple Cider Vinegar miniseries on Netflix. It’s a true story about a girl who lied (not the part that inspired me) – but despite being a big liar, she actually created an app that was impressive and it just took a lot of determination and believing in her passion, but also her lie DID help her get a lot of sympathy followers, which got her over 2.3 million followers. The followers are the tricky part.

Ah well, if nothing else, it’s given me an idea.

I’ve spent the past couple weeks working on My Mister’s children’s Christmas book website, and it’s finally something. You can actually buy a book on it now! But there is still much work to be done, and unfortunately getting a couple of old guys to embrace TikToK and Instagram to get engagement, well, that’s a mission I do not want to embrace. They need to do their own work on that. It’s their dream, not mine.

I can’t go chasing their waterfalls.

Because I really want to spend time this year actually exploring more real-life waterfalls, and as we just reviewed above, there are only fifty-two precious weekends in a year, and we have already used seven of them.
